Railroad Grade 5K Race
The 7th Annual 5K Railroad Grade Run will be held September 20, 2008 in Todd, NC. Race begins at 9:00 a.m. Registration and preregistration packet pickup begins at 8:15 a.m.
HIDEThis is a fast, flat scenic 5k race. Race starts and ends at Todd General Store. Preregistration - $15.00, Race Day - $18.00. All proceeds go to the R. Flake Shaw Scholarship Fund. Ever wondered what it takes to build a hiking trail? Well here is a great way to learn and get your hands dirty helping to build a hiking trial that will be here forever. Elk Knob is currently building a hiking trail to the summit and needs your help. No experience is needed. Rangers will be there to work with you and to answer any questions. Activities could include any of the following...clearing brush and topsoil in trail path, creating tread, building rock wall, graveling tread, and more.
HIDEEvery Saturday 9am-2pm. Meet in the trailhead parking lot at 9am. Bring work gloves and Cover toed shoes (no sandals or flip flops will be allowed when working on the trail). Please be sure to bring any water and or snacks you will need while working.
